What's the weather? You could just look out the window, but we want more then that. In this technical world many have become self taught meteorologists. We open the app, and view the radar, check out the forecast, and we have what we need to plan our lives. No more weatherman! Which app is going to tell you what you want to know? I recently downloaded "SuperWeather" to see how it compares to the rest I have tried. It has simple design, colorful separation of the rows making easy to read. Easy to understand. All the information you need to know can be seen on one screen ( if the ad was gone), helping you plan your day. You get four locations on free version, I am sure unlimited with the paid app. Swiping the screen right or left reveals your other locations. In portrait, flipping the screen up or down changes the views. The main screen gives you the current conditions and a 7 day forecast at the bottom. (Under the ad) The next screen down gives you an enlarged 24 hour forecast in 3 hour increments. The next screen down shows you the current day and 7 days out. Turning to landscape gives you a 7 day, every three hour weather forecast. SuperWeather offers a newsletter subscription via your email if you want to sign up. Although I signed up, I have not seen any content of the newsletter. For those who want to show off their weather, sharing on social media is available. Right now only Facebook and Twitter is available from the app. Ads on the free version a little glitchy, ad bar gets stuck in mid screen after screen rotation from landscape. Also the ad bar is in the way of the screen, covering up the forecast information at the bottom. I think I implied that earlier. Just one reason to buy the ad free version. This developer also teamed up with "Pollfish". This is a way the app developer makes money with its users. The developer gets 30 cents for your poll information. I filled out the first poll it sent me minutes after I downloaded the app. You don't have to take the poll, but it annoyingly keeps reminding you of it, and it puts a side tab on the screen until you give them the information they want. Nothing too personal, I mean no name, email or phone number, not even my city. They inquired about my age, marital status, when I want to buy a new car, how much I could spend. I haven't seen another poll yet. (24 hours) I also don't know if Pollfish goes away in the paid version since taking a poll isn't really advertising. I personally like to look at the radar, and it is not available on this app. It would be a definite purchase for me if it had radar. ( wink, wink, nudge, nudge) No beautiful pictures representing the weather in your area or somewhere else. Unless you live in the slums, look outside where you'll spend the day. It works on iPad, although it is optimized for iPhone. For 99 cents you can purchase the app. That makes it cheaper then many other weather apps. Not glamorous, but useful. Yes, this app tells you what you need to know and is a nice app for knowing what the day and week will be anywhere in the world. .
