Best iPad Apps for Jogging

Reviews

Having an iPhone app to go jogging with that will record your distance, time, route, elevation, calories burned, speed etc is just one more reason to make exercise all the more appealing and interesting to men and women wanting to get or stay fit.
Best iPad Apps for JoggingMapMyRun – GPS Running Price: Free MapMyRun is one such app which gets excellent reviews and does what it says. It records, distance, speed, time, pace, calories lost, your nutritional level, and lets you interact socially with people who might have run the same route. You can also compete in sponsored challenges with this app and win prizes. It also gives you stats on your heart rate, but you will need to purchase an additional accessory for this. There are over 9 million people who use this app and with those kind of numbers you get to choose from over 26 million routes. You can play music while running the app in the background or turn off your device to preserve your battery and still have MapMyRun running. By posting your runs you get to share your routes and compare data. The interface is clean and clear where while you’re running, under “stats” you can see your time, distance, pace and speed. Its latest version upgrade includes maps that are now thankfully scrollable and zoomable. Reviews for this free app speak for themselves.
Best iPad Apps for JoggingRunKeeper Price: Free RunKeeper is much like MapMyRun except with a few additional differences. With this jogging app you get to listen to how you are doing – “live” – and find out whether you are behind or ahead. Something very useful for joggers wanting to make steps fast, plus during intervals you can get coached on stretching and other exercise methods. With the GPS mapping, everything is recorded, so when you get back you can download your data and explore further into your heart rate monitoring on the runkeeper website or tap into your nutritional health and see where you might want to increase your food energy intake. The audio coach is probably what sets this free app apart. However user reviews suggest the GPS is not accurate and their customer support is nonexistent, so check for latest reviews if you’re going to download this.
Best iPad Apps for JoggingGet Running Price: $2.99 It’s not an over exaggeration to say that fitness apps are really helping people get off their ass and lose weight. They are proving far more inspirational than some electronic eBook and GetRunning, whilst $2.99 is another app contributing to this change in peoples attitude towards health. It calls itself the couch to 5km run coach! And user reviews are saying it works for them. Whether a beginner or training for a marathon, your audio coach takes you through the steps to reach your goal. There are over hundreds of recordings, and you get to interact with the community of users, meet new fellow athletes, post your updates to Facebook or Twitter, or just your personal group if you don’t want to broadcast it to the world! For beginners, the couch to 5km run coach sets you up with 3 30-40 minutes runs a week. Once you’ve breeched this mark, running gets a whole lot easier. Some plus points to when using this app are that it will pause your music instead of playing over it when running to give you updates on how you’re doing. There are few negatives to this app, as users do suggest that it would be nice to able to track where your running through GPS. Also, an independent volume control would be helpful as music is often played a tad louder so the audio fitness interval commentary comes across at the same volume.
