BasketWorldCup App Review

Reviews

BasketWorldCup App ReviewAvailable for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, BasketWorldCup! is a basketball-themed game produced by LitQoo, Inc, that is entirely addictive.  As a user, you have two modes available through which you can play: Single and World Cup.  Single player mode allows you to advance through various rounds depending on your performance and the number of lives you have.  World Cup mode places your scores alongside other players from around the world, ranking you accordingly. Upon entering Single player mode for the first time, you are presented with a series of screen shots that introduce you to the controls.  In order to shoot, tap and hold the middle of the screen to make a trajectory arc appear.  If you slide your finger downwards, the arc grows higher; you can shrink it by sliding upwards.  Furthermore, when you slide rightwards, the arc becomes longer; sliding left makes the arc shorter.  Each shot you receive (you begin with ten, and have a max of ten) is placed at a different point throughout the screen, so you constantly need to judge the trajectory.  Furthermore, the trajectory arc becomes shorter and shorter as you advance through the game, making it a bit more difficult to score successfully.  Each successful basket is worth one more life, and a swish (or as the game calls it, a "clean" shot) is worth an additional life.  Unfortunately, you are only limited to ten shots per round, and therefore, ten lives.
BasketWorldCup App ReviewThe World Cup mode takes your scores and compares them in real-time to other players throughout the world.  During and after each round, your country, name, level, points, lives, and time are displayed in a chart format.  Additionally, your number ranking appears to the left side of your country flag, and the total number of players is displayed along the bottom.  It is entirely interesting to see how you compare with other players around the world. As a free app, I think that this one is a lot more fun than something along the lines of Paper Toss.  While there aren't ample amounts of features, and only a few different levels (which exist mainly for aesthetic purposes) it is still a fun way to pass the time, requiring minimal thought with minimal controls. You can download it at iTunes.
