TopGear Magazine is known as one of the best places to find UK motoring news. And it doesn't just cover the UK but the whole world of motoring news. Now there is a mobile version of the magazine with the TopGear Magazine cars app for iPhone and iPad.
This cars magazine app is interactive and offers exclusive features like bonus content, reader interaction, and incredible HD quality videos and photos. Now you will have all the content of the print version, and a whole lot more, at your fingertips.
For more details on this top iPhone app about cars, check out our TopGear Magazine app review below.
This is a great example of a print magazine offering that extra bit more for mobile users. Rather than just duplicate the print version this mobile app gives users a whole lot more and creates an interactive experience that is exclusive to the app.
Now it should be noted that this bonus and interactive content is only available on the iPad version of the app. Unfortunately, the iPhone/iPod touch version doesn’t offer these exclusive features and is just a mirror image of the print magazine.
If you've never read this magazine before here's a great way to check it out and that's with the 30-day free trial. This is available to users who sign up for a subscription your first 30 days will be free.
This trial can be canceled or you can stick with it and then receive 35 percent off the subscription fee. There is a six-month subscription package for $22.99 and the one year package for $42.99.
iPad Offers a Superior Performance
In order to fully appreciate this app it really needs to be enjoyed on an iPad. This is where you'll be able to check out all the interactive elements, the image galleries, and the stunning HD videos. The interactive elements include being able to swipe on cars to see them perform.
The images can be seen in 360˚ view and there is even hidden content that you can tap on to read more about. As well, iPad offers exclusive digital promotions. That’s not to say the iPhone/iPod touch versions aren’t worth checking out; you just won’t be getting anything unique or exclusive in them.
Users don’t seem to be fully won over by this app. There are plenty of positive comments but with that said the app doesn’t score particularly high in the customer ratings. I think the fact that the user experience is just so vastly different depending on the device really impacts this app negatively.
