Everybody who likes to look good and wants to be healthier needs to work out. However, since it's so easy to be lazy these days, getting yourself to the gym every day can be quite difficult, especially with busy lives. But summer will be coming soon, and it will be time for less clothes and less places to hide, so we need to find a way to get ourselves in action. One way to motivate yourself to do more work out is to use the CrossFit exercise program.
Every summer, the CrossFit Games are held all over the world to help us get the workout done we need. The CrossFit Games are also trackable online, when you upload your scores (with a video or an endorsement from an affiliated gym) you can track them against all the players of these games in the world. The company CrossFit, inc has now also released an app to help you track the scores. The app is developed for iPhone, but works fine with iPad.
Firstly, to be able to compete in the leaderboards, you need to set up an account. If you don’t have one, you need to create one, which you can do from within the app. Now we can start using the app. At the time of writing, the CrossFit Games haven’t started yet so you can see that the leaderboard is set to zero for every person. When the games start, this list will populate itself. You can easily see your own score and look for scores from friends and rivals, so the app is very easy to use.
In addition to all this leaderboard and tracking goodness, you can also check out all different kinds of workouts here. These are all in video form and you can see them under the video tab of the app. Be aware you do need to be online to access the app, and all the content within, as everything needs to be streamed from the Internet. Of course there is also a news section, where you will be able to see the new challenges every week and where any other news regarding the CrossFit games will be uploaded.
This app is clearly made for people who live in the United States. CrossFit gyms are not commonly found in other countries, and to compete in these games you need to get an affiliate to upload and confirm your scores. Tons of video content is available in the app, but only if you have an Internet connection. The app is also only created for iPhone, even though it works fine on my iPad as well.
