I have seen a lot of sports apps in my reviewing days and to be honest I have seen a ton of bad ones in particular. It’s not easy to get a sports app right as there are so many points where you can go terribly wrong as a developer. There are however a few developers who get it right, and there are a few good apps available in the App Store for every sport you can imagine. Up until now I struggled finding a really good tennis app, but as of today this changed when I found Tennis News & Live Scores by developer Newsfusion Ltd. I have reviewed apps by this developer before but this app developed for both iPad and iPhone is one of the best I’ve seen. The app is just over 11 MB.
As the title of the app suggests, this app offers you all the tennis news that you can handle. In addition to this, it also holds a live feed where you will receive all the live scores during matches. Of course this is not all as where the app really stands out is that is covers all kinds of news outlets, but never actually doubles up on the news, as it automatically stores articles about the same objects in a folder. You can access all these articles from different outlets with one easy tap. Of course there is also a video channel with videos curated by the news team at Newsfusion.

Where the app really stands out is in the initial startup phase of the app. You will get to see an overview of tournaments, leagues, and players and you get to tell the app how much interest you have in each and every subject by simply moving a slider from left to right. This way you control how often you will receive news on a subject and it also allows you to block certain content forever. This really allows for a ton of personalization and it is extremely easy to set up.

Finally a tennis app has arrived that I will actually use during the bigger tournaments. Most tournaments also have their own app, but it’s such a hassle to download a new app every time a tournament starts. The news feed is well-designed and is easily personalized. The video feed is exactly what you would hope, but only has videos after the tournaments are over. This is easily the best tennis news app out there, and every self respecting tennis fan should have this app. The app is compatible with both iPad and iPhone and is just over 11 MB.
