The best iPad apps for saving money

I absolutely love the concept behind this app, but the problem I see with it is that since the apparent passing of the main developer, the support and ongoing maintenance appeared to have been greatly neglected.

Cons

  • It appears as if the developer support for this app has diminished greatly in recent months, so I would recommend reading the following user remark: “This app has many bugs and the development team is MIA. It's sad that the lead developer succumbed to his battle with cancer. One of his wishes though, was that Catamount continue in the hands of his cousin, Eric Ojala. Whether this person plans to continue or not is unknown, but one thing is for sure, his lack of communication to a loyal user base has been disgraceful. So many bugs and user complaints, and no fixes. Not even a single post to his own forum, and not a single response to support emails. Absolutely, undeniably disgraceful.

Final Words

While I think the tone of the above user complaint is a little strong, it does seem as if PocketMoney - checkbook, budgets, expenses for iPhone and iPad is best assumed to have no ongoing support for customers, so if you experience any issues then you might find yourself unable to resolve them.

This leaves me a little undecided about this app because it’s a great financial tool but I don’t see any positivity in its future so for now I think it would be best to at least compare it to other developments before making your final decision.
