Shopping Aid app review: grocery lists

Reviews

Introduction

Shopping Aid is a great iPhone and iPad app that unfortunately appears to have fallen into disrepair as the developer is no longer maintaining it, leading to visual issues with the interface for users of iOS 6 and later.

The best grocery list apps for iPhone and iPad

It’s a real shame that the developer hasn’t updated this app for more recent versions of iOS because I actually really like the way they’ve laid everything out, plus the features in general, are certainly up to par with comparable grocery list apps in the Productivity category of the App Store.

Grocery Lists With Sales Taxes

This is a nifty little app that has been designed to make it easy for you to track your grocery expenses with sales tax calculation included and the ability to specify your own state or regional sales tax, as well as tax exemption on applicable items.

You can also add your own photos by taking them from within the app or importing them from your device’s Camera Roll, and you can sort your lists and items into categories for one-tap entry upon future use.

For iOS Prior to Version 6

The unfortunate thing about Shopping Aid is that the interface is, well, a mess. This is due largely to a lack of compatibility with iOS versions 6 and later, so this basically renders the app next to useless for most people.

If you have an older device or have decided to stick with past versions of iOS then you’ll definitely want to consider this app, but otherwise I’ll have to advise that you look elsewhere.

Final Words

Shopping Aid is good for iPhone and iPad users who are using older versions of iOS, but for those of you with more up-to-date versions, you’ll have to choose a more modern shopping list creator app.
