Powder Alarm app review: snow alerts for western USA

Reviews

Introduction

Powder Alarm is one for all you powder junkies who live in the western states of the USA, providing live snowfall reports, snow depth reports,  alerts via Push notification, and loads of other goodies to ensure you’re the first one out on the slopes when the white stuff falls.

The best iPad apps for skiing

There’s nothing quite like being the first one to hit the slopes, chopping and slaloming your way through the freshly fallen virgin snow, and I really think that the alerts provided by this app will help you to experience that feeling time and time again.

For All You Powder Junkies

What we have here is truly must-have app that provides you with hourly snow reports for Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington so that you can get out and hit the slopes as early as possible.

The best iPhone apps for skiing-2021

The developer of this app prides themselves on the fact that the reports of the quantity of snow fallen is based on snowfall since each featured resort was closed, as opposed to a full 24-hour report which can obviously skew the results and make them less accurate.

Receive Snowfall Alerts

As I mentioned above, Powder Alarm allows you to set up and receive alerts via Push notification whenever snow falls on your chosen resorts, so just specify your preferences and let the app do its thing!

The developer also promises that future resorts are being added on a fairly consistent basis without the need for new updates to be downloaded; considering this app hasn’t been updated since 2011 I would be skeptical about the frequency of resort additions but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt here.
