Swingbook app review: prioritizing your contacts

Reviews

Introduction

Most people have a huge amount of people in their contacts list but that doesn't meant you are chatting with all of them on a regular basis. The Swingbook app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone has been created for those who use Gmail and actually suggests to you the important contacts based upon their location and time. This is a very simple and basic offering that is meant to be user-friendly and functional. This contact list app lets you get in touch with all your most important contacts by phone call or message.

All the Important Contacts

The Swingbook app is all about prioritizing your contacts so your important ones stand out and make it easy for you to contact them. Think of this app as your own personalized VIP list that will literally filter out everything but your top 15 contacts. These top 15 are determined by who you are most likely to contact and the list is dynamic meaning it is always being updated based on your communications patterns, calendar agendas, your location, and the frequency that you communicate with contacts. Although this app is specifically for Gmail clients the developer has plans to add more platforms in the future.

The app requires iOS 7.0 or later to use and in its most recent update there were improvements made to the app as well as a number of bug fixes. The app doesn't have any customer comments or a customer rating at this point.

Using the App

The Swingbook user experience is meant to be quick and simple with the app taking care of most of the details for you. Because this is acting as your own dynamic VIP list contacting people gets a whole lot easier. As far as the user controls go, again simplicity is key. The user interface uses swipe gestures: just swipe to the right to make a call and swipe a message to the left to respond to it.

Don't think of this app just as a contact list because that's really selling it short. This is a contact list that is integrated with your inbox so that everything arrives to one central location. This means any communications with those top contacts through phone calls, Twitter, Facebook, FaceTime, and Gmail. I have to say I also really like the look of the user interface; it's not just easy to use but it's also really fun and pleasing to the eye at the same time.
