DJ SoundBox Pro app review: poorly maintained

Introduction

DJ SoundBox Pro is an amateur DJ’s companion app for iPhone that offers some pretty decent features for mixing songs together, but unfortunately there have been a lot of complaints from users on the iTunes description page regarding its temperamental nature.

I can definitely attest to the unreliable functionality of this app; the crashing and sporadic unresponsiveness of the interface makes it a real pain to use at times so I can’t personally recommend downloading it.

Supports a Variety of File Formats

Making a rather disappointing addition to the Music category of the App Store is this utility that you can use to combine your songs to create loops and miscellaneous mashups from a variety of file formats like .MP3, .WAV, .OGG, and .WMA.

One thing I do like about this app is that it allows you to export your mixes in .M4R file format to make your own custom ringtones, but I wouldn’t recommend saving any works in progress because it’ll be somewhat of a gamble and you might not be able to continue at a later date.

No iOS 8 Support

DJ SoundBox Pro features a simple pitch shifter so you can make sure the songs you mix together are in complimentary keys, and you’ll also find support for landscape and portrait orientation modes to get the view of the interface that you prefer.

It’s a real shame that this app has been poorly maintained, but I’m really hoping that the developer will take the time to update it and get it fully optimized for iOS 8 in the near future.

DJ SoundBox Pro has a lot of potential but for now I would recommend looking for another iPhone and iPad app to create your mixes.
