Whether you’re a complete beginner to reading music notation or you’re somewhat experienced and want to improve your sight reading capabilities, you’re sure to find everything you need in Grand Staff for iPhone and iPad to illuminate the way.
I really like what the developer has done here because it provides a slow-and-steady approach to learning how to read music without making quick jumps in the complexity of the content or making assumptions about what you may or may not already know.
What we’ve got here is a fantastic tool for any of you who are looking to improve your ability to read music, with an interface based around the keys of a piano so you can ensure you are playing the correct notes.
This app has been designed to cater for beginners all the way up to advanced musicians, and there are more than 250 levels for you to work your way through. I think this is excellent as it means you can jump right in at a level that suits you and gradually work your way up.
Better Suited to iPad
Grand Staff offers corrections and guidance every step of the way so you know you’re on the right track, and I would very much recommend the iPad version as it extends the piano interface to two octaves whereas the iPhone version is limited to one.
