CosmoCamp app review: a coloring book with patterns and a recycling bin
Introduction
CosmoCamp: Coloring Book is an iPhone and iPad coloring game that has two levels for toddlers and preschoolers. There are free portions and there are also add-on portions. Both toddler and preschool levels are unlocked for trial, however, so your child can get the hang of it.

Two Modes
CosmoCamp: Coloring Book has two learning modes for kids who are two to three or four to five. In the two to three level, the coloring pages are the same but there are less tools. There are 10 colors, a paintbrush, wand, and soap to scrub away mistakes. There is a recycling bin instead of a trash bin to clear the sheet, which I enjoy as it teaches environmental responsibility. I also like how easy it is to save and view the completed images. Right from the coloring screen, your child can tap on the panda clipboard to see their previous pages. Beside that there is the coloring page menu and your child can easily choose another image.
The best iPad apps for toddlersIn the preschool level there are many more tools. There are 20 colors, and 21 patterns to choose from. It was fun to create a background with a pattern, choose a different pattern for the words on that particular coloring page, and then finish up the other designs. In the preschool level you can also choose different thicknesses of the paintbrush from thin to medium and thick. There’s also a bucket to fill spaces. I’d like to see the bucket added to the toddler level too so that they don’t get frustrated by not staying in the lines, but I’m glad it’s in the preschool level. As with the toddler, there is a wand and the soap.
Fun Coloring
CosmoCamp: Coloring Book is a coloring book, and it says so right in the title. I appreciate that there is no dodging around with trying to get kids interested in other ways. If I want to download a coloring book, I’ll download a coloring book, and my kids also appreciate being able to know what they’re clicking on. My girls are pretty adventurous, so they’ll click whatever apps I’ve downloaded, but my son asks me what the app is before he opens it. If I haven’t had a chance to try it out first, then I need to be able to explain somehow. This one was easy. It’s a coloring book.

Final Thoughts
CosmoCamp: Coloring Book is an iPhone and iPad coloring book that allows your child to color black line pages in a wide range of colors. There are lots of patterns too, and I really enjoy that they did include a fill bucket in the preschool mode. I really like that they used a recycling bin rather than a trash bin. It is so exciting to me that the app is teaching environmental responsibility!
