Bible Reading Made Easy

The Bible is undoubtedly an old book; it’s been around for more than 2000 years. Any book that’s that old will become a little dated. Think about the language we use today compared with common phrases from just 20 years ago: there’s been a lot of change in language in just that short period of time.

The language that was spoken by the original authors of the Bible was very different from the language we speak today. It’s for this reason that different translations of the Bible have been written over the centuries.

Swipe Bible brings many of those translations together in one place so that Biblical scholars can compare the changes in meaning.

This app is chiefly concerned with providing a format for presenting the Bible in its different versions. It isn’t a complicated app; in fact, it’s pretty basic.

It functions in many ways like the iBook’s app that comes with any iOS device, so it will have a familiar look and feel for anyone who has used this app. It’s simple but it works. The app will require 95 MB of free space on your IOS device.

How it Works

Within the app you’ll be able to access six different versions of the Bible and you can have as many different versions open at one time as you like.

To open a Bible you simply tap on it on the bookshelf to activate it and then tap on the book icon in the top right corner this will open a list of the different verses. Just tap on the verse and chapter you want to read to access it.

The really cool part of this app is the ability to swipe to the next open version. If you’re reading a particular line you can simply swipe to the left to read the same line in a different version you have open. This is a great way to compare the different translations side by side.

There are also a lot of other helpful tools within the app; you can add notes, create bookmarks, highlight sections, and even access the built in dictionary if a word you come across is not familiar to you. The interface may be pretty basic but it works.
