Are you in the market for a private jet or even just curious about these luxurious Cadillacs of the sky? Even if you don’t think you’ll ever be able to afford one of these beauties it’s still nice to dream once in a while. If you want to learn all about the specs of the most popular private jets you may want to check out Jetpedia. This app has all the specs on hundreds of private jets. This app is available for purchase from the App Store at a cost of $0.99 and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
There aren’t a whole lot of apps that are dedicated to the love of private jets – let’s face it most of us can’t afford them and don’t want to be reminded of the fact. There are some folks though who just can’t get enough information about jets. Jetpedia was created to give anyone who has an interest in private jets, either out of curiosity or because they’re in the market for their own, an app with all the specs that they might be interested in.
This app had one major flaw that seemed like a major oversight to me. When you open a jet’s information to look at the specs only part of the information is displayed on the screen. If you pull up on the page you can view the rest of the information, but as soon as you lift your finger of the device it bounces back into place. This was more than a little strange, if you want to return to the top of the page you should be able to do so at your own leisure. There aren’t any instructions in this app either, but it’s a pretty simple interface and this isn’t a serious problem. This app will require 11.5 MB of free space on your iOS device.
How it Works
When you open the app you’ll notice only a few items on the screen. The main part of the app is a list of planes that you can scroll through. To view the specs of any of these planes simply tap on it and you’ll be able to view all of its specs. They include all the major items you’re likely to be interested in such as price, range, speed, weight, and wingspan. There’s also a search bar at the top of the app if you know the actual plane you’re looking for. Other than that, there is a menu icon in the top left corner but this simply contains some basic information about the developers as well as their contact information. The app does run very smoothly: I didn’t come across any glitches other than the curious requirement to hold the specs in place to view them mentioned above.
Ability search for specific planes using the built-in search engine
Specs for jets will not remain on the page for viewing unless you hold them there
If you’re enthusiastic about private jets then you’ll likely find Jetpedia interesting. This is a simple little app with specs on hundreds of different private planes. It might not be for everyone, but if jets are your first love then you’ll want to check this one out.
