MusicStreamer app review: play all of your music effortlessly over your network

We all have different tastes in music and if we asked a thousand people who their favorite singer is it’s entirely possible we’d get a thousand different answers, but almost all of us share a love of music. iOS devices come well-equipped to play our favorite music through iTunes, which is without a doubt one of the best music players around, but it does have its limitations. It’s not always easy transferring all of your CDs to the iTunes format, and there are some formats it simply doesn’t support; not to mention, saving every song on every CD you own onto your iPhone or iPad can take up a lot of space on your device.

The best iPhone apps for listening to music

The MusicStreamer app by Stratospherix provides a great music streamer that works seamlessly off your network, so that you can simply play your CDs from your computer’s hard drive and save the room on your iOS device. This is app is available for purchase from the App Store at a cost of $2.99 and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Smooth Music Streaming

If you have an extensive library of music on your PC that you want to easily share over your home network without filing up your iOS device then MusicStreamer really is a great solution. This app works about as smoothly as you could possible hope. The whole process is automated so it’s not difficult at all to set up. There is a manual setup option as well if you prefer, but in my experience the automatic setup worked just fine. The only thing that upset me about this app is that I didn’t find it earlier. It’s the perfect app to turn you into the perfect party host, transforming you into a DJ in your own home.

Best iphone and ipad apps

The great thing about this app is that there’s a perfect set of instructions that will help you prepare your PC for sharing your music with the app. It turns a potentially frustrating process into a fairly simple one. Let’s face it, we’d much rather have the answers at our fingertips than having to do a random Google search and hoping we’ll get lucky. These instructions are well-written and they’re accompanied by illustrations to make them even clearer you don’t have to be a tech expert to set up the perfect home music streaming platform with the MusicStreamer app. This app will require 7.2 MB of available space on your iOS device.

How it Works

The process of setting up this app for use really couldn’t be any easier. When you open the app you’ll see a scan button that will search for your networks shared music files and make them available automatically for sharing on your device. If your computer requires a user name and password you will be prompted for this first. If you haven’t already set your computer up for sharing your music files, and you’re not entirely sure how to do it, you’ll find a comprehensive list of instructions by tapping on the help icon in the top right corner of the screen. The app may prompt you to select your music file from a list but that’s about all there is to it.

Once you’re set up using the app to play your music is a breeze. It looks just like most music players you’ve ever used before. You can even create your own playlists if you prefer. All the available songs that you’ve shared in your music file will be accessible from the apps playlist. It has your typical play, fast forward, rewind, and shuffle options; if your music files include the album art this will appear in the app as well.
