Puzzle Tracks by TorresLabs is an addictive little puzzle game that will challenge you to think on your feet. At first you might think the games a little too easy but it gets more difficult as you progress through the levels. This is the type of game you can get the whole family involved in, and with the clock ticking away and only seconds to react you’ll experience some frustration along the way as well as the joy of success when you get the puzzle right. This is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
Most of us remember fondly the games of our childhood like Jenga or Connect Four – these games were simple and fun, but they also challenged us to use our minds. These games showed us that a game didn’t have to be complicated to be challenging. With the growth in popularity of tablets these traditional games have been replaced by App Store games with the same sort of simple puzzle strategies, and Puzzle Tracks is a prime example of this type of app. To be successful this type of game has to be challenging, make you think on your feet, and a whole lot of fun and Puzzle Tracks is all of these things.
This game isn’t without its issues though. For one thing, you will have to put up with ads in the free version – after every third or fourth game a full page pop up video ad takes over your screen and you’re forced to watch at least a few seconds of it. The other limitation of the free version is that you only get access to 12 levels – there are 48 all together, but to gain access to the rest of the levels you’ll have to do so through an in-app purchase. This app will require 41.6 MB of available space on your IOS device.
How to Play
There are actually a couple of different game modes in the free version – you can either play the standard game with 12 different levels or you can create your own using the Puzzle factory. In either mode the object is to move pieces of track around the puzzle board in order to create a clear path for your ball to reach the finish line. It may sound simple, but it’s extremely challenging. 12 levels aren’t really a lot but you can always upgrade to the premium version for $0.99 which will give you access to all 48 levels and remove the ads.
The Puzzle Factory option is pretty easy to use as well. Along the bottom of the app you’ll see the different puzzle pieces available to you, and all you have to do is tap on a piece and then tap on where you’d like it to appear on the board to select it. It’s a lot of fun creating your own version of the game and you can even share the finished product with your friends and challenge them to defeat your creation.
With the Puzzle Factory you can create your own boards
Unlocking all 48 levels requires an in-app purchase
Contains pop up ads
