Introduction

Bazaarii by greenetworks is an app that uses popular photo sharing tools, like Instagram and Foursquare, to search for popular businesses and shopping opportunities near you. This information is already available to you, but this app acts as an aggregator, bringing together multiple sources in one place. It’s definitely a great concept for an app, but the question with this one is does it really offer something unique enough that iOS users will turn to it on a regular basis? Unfortunately, it isn’t really difficult using the other popular apps mentioned above for the same purpose, which suggests it’s at least questionable whether most people will get a lot of mileage out of this one. In our modern society we do just about everything we can online – we find friends, we fall in love, we catch up on the day’s news, and of course we shop! There are all kinds of apps we can use to shop online no matter what we’re looking for— some of the more popular online shopping sources are Amazon and eBay, but there are tons of others. In a packed market like this it’s hard to stand out and Bazaarii doesn’t really try to compete directly with these online shopping experiences. This app is more focused on helping you find bricks and mortar shopping locations near you, and it does a decent job, but you can get the same type of information on Foursquare it just isn’t focused only on shopping which is the main difference.

There are quite a few good things that this app has going for it. The user interface is nice and clean and easy to navigate, which makes it a joy to use. There are no ads in this app, and although there are in-app purchases, at the time of this review the developer had waived the fee for the in-app purchase – although it’s not clear how long this will last. The Bazaarii app will require 28.2 MB of available space on your iOS device.

The Essentials

The first time you run Bazaarii you’ll be treated with a quick walkthrough of the app which explains things quite clearly and it won’t hold you up for more than a few seconds – you can also choose to skip it if you prefer. The other thing you’ll be asked to do is register as a user, while this isn’t required it does open up a couple of extra features for you. You’ll be able to use the favorites feature for saving the sites you’re most likely to use if you register as a member so it’s definitely not a waste of time.

The main features of this app are pretty basic and you’ll find most of your options along the bottom of the screen. The search feature lists all the available categories as well as letting you search for a specific category if you prefer – you can also use the filter tool in the top right corner if you prefer which performs essentially the same function. If you want to see what other users found interesting you can tap on the top rated icon at the bottom. No matter how you arrive at a business or store you’ll find the same type of information: location, contact information, and photo samples if they are available.

Bazaarii is a decent little app designed to help you find businesses and shops in your area. This is not meant to be an online shopping experience, so if that’s what you’re looking for this isn’t it. If you want to know what’s available in your area though this one’s probably worth a look.
