RingMeMaybe is not the only available app in the App Store for making phone calls and sending texts, but it is one of the better ones.

The best iPhone apps for phone calls 2021

If you take a quick cruise through the App Store for text messaging and calling apps you’ll find at least a dozen possibilities. What you won’t find is too many apps that combine both popular features.

It’s the combination of texting and phone calling features that make RingMeMaybe a winner. This isn’t meant as a replacement for your existing cellular service, but it is a fine complimentary service.

This app really takes a unique approach in order to offer you some great features. In most apps in this category you’re going to have to put up with all kinds of ads in order to get the free services on offer – this is not the case in RingMeMaybe.

This app has no add clutter at all, instead the developers offer you a limited number of credits and you can either add more through in-app purchase or you can watch adds voluntarily from their sponsors and get free credits.

It’s refreshing to have the choice left up to you. This app will require 18.6 MB of available space on your iOS device.

The Essentials

Perhaps the only real drawback in this app is that you have to use your Facebook account to sign up. This is a little invasive and will put a few potential users off. It would be better if the developers allowed their users to create a unique profile to sign up for the app.

Once you are signed up all you have to do is tap on the screen to assign yourself a unique phone number, and then you’ll receive a test call to get you started. After that you’re ready to get going.

The app looks and works much like you’re cell phone does normally. At the bottom of the app you’ll notice familiar tabs: recent calls, contacts, dial pad, and my numbers.

If you tap on recent calls or contacts you can choose a number to text or call – as you’ll find in any standard cell phone each contact will have bot a texting and calling option readily available.

To add credits to your app either by in-app purchase or by viewing an ad from the apps sponsors, all you have to do is tap on the money icon in the top right corner.
