Your Eyes app review: exercise your eyes 2021

Reviews

Introduction

As somebody who’s had to wear glasses for several years now, maintaining the best eyesight possible has become something of an obsession – for that reason I was quite excited when I came across the Your Eyes app for iPhone. We only have one set of eyes in our lifetime so it’s important to take care of them.

The Your Eyes eyesight improvement app is designed to help you do this. This is an app that is designed to walk you through numerous different eye exercises that they claim will help maintain and even improve your vision.

After trying the exercises I can say they seem like common sense and I guess only time will tell if it really works. Let's see how it compares to the best iPhone apps for eyesight.

Exercise Your Eyes

I was curious to see if there were any other similar apps in the App Store as this is not the type of app I had come across before and after a quick search what I found was there are a few other options, but not many – most of these are paid apps much like Your Eyes.

What all of these apps have in common is that they all recommend taking your eyes off the screen for a while, and while this may seem like common sense, unfortunately most of us don’t do it very often.

Your Eyes is a pretty decent effort within this very small category, but it has a couple of flaws which make me hesitate to recommend this app.

First of all, the app is inundated with curious grammatical errors which seem quite unprofessional – you have to wonder if they can’t get such a simple thing like this right how reliable are there vision exercises? This may seem like a bit of a leap but it’s a legitimate question.

The other thing I didn’t like was that the app completely lacks any useful introduction – they do have one, but it just asks you basically if you’re worried about your eyesight and then jumps right into the app. It would be a great addition if they at least explained to you why eye exercises might actually work for you.

There is a support option within the settings section but all this does is open up an email for you to send your complaints – not quite what I had in mind. This app will require 7.7 MB of available space on your iOS device.

How It Works

To get started you just tap on the start button at the bottom of the app screen and the app will start a simple countdown before the first exercise begins.

For each exercise a set of instructions will be displayed on the screen that you’re expected to read and then follow the instructions – once you’ve had a chance to read over the instructions, the idea is that you will implement them for a set period of time.

This time period will be measured by a countdown on your screen – each exercise is then followed by a rest period. That’s really all there is to it, this process will continue until you’ve completed all of the exercises.

Final Words

Your Eyes is a simple, easy to use app, designed to help you exercise your eyes and maintain your vision. It includes several different exercises and each exercise is timed to make it easy for you to follow along. It seems to work pretty well but you will have to be the judge of that.
