Exploring the Vision Behind the App

This news-based app is the kind of offering that you look at a few times and then automatically become hooked, it's just that good. The developers have really done an exceptional job making this all about a vision and a visual experience at that.

“At ViewFind, we connect people through visual storytelling from some of the world’s best photojournalists and visual storytellers,” said the developers. “We believe that sharing insightful, well-reported and ethically sound stories from around the world will empower our contributors professionally and our readers personally.”

Because this is a news-based app users need to be able to know that the stories are following proper ethics, are truthful, and there is integrity behind them. That's why the developers were sure to set integrity as their "core value".

"We pledge to uphold the highest ethical standards and be reliable, honest, and transparent in our storytelling."

And, it doesn't end there as far as the core values go. There is also diversity, excellence, innovation, and empowerment. Each of these values play an important role not just in the development of the app, but the direction it takes on a daily basis.

To help ensure that users are getting the best, more reliable, and most engaging experience possible developers have also teamed up with a variety of partners such as photography websites and news organizations. This is basically added value for users as the developers are the ones doing all the legwork and making sure only the best of the best appears.

Explore What’s Happening

What a great way to discover what is happening in the world. If reading the paper isn’t for you, and flipping through magazine feature stories seems like a bore, then it’s time to take a more visual approach to learning about the world. The ViewFind app is the perfect way to do this.

The best iPhone apps for live streaming-2021

When you launch the app for the first time, you’re going to need to create an account or sign in through Google+, Twitter, or Facebook. If you’re unsure whether the app is for you or not, you can browse as a guest.

The home page takes you to “today’s featured” story, which is always a great place to start. The navigation bar along the bottom of the screen can be used to get to the home screen, search for something specific, or explore by regions in the world. When you tap on a region you are then taken to a map of that area, where you can then get even more specific.

One downfall with this app is that much of the content seems to lag. This can obviously dampen the overall user experience if it happens too many times.

Once you do find a story that you’re interested in, just tap on it and the main screen shows you the title, location, and the amount of photos in the story. Of course, the photojournalist’s name is also displayed. So, as you go through the photos in the story, there is text you’ll be reading. This isn’t text-free, rather it is in short snippets instead that correlate with the photo. It’s great for those who find a full page of text too imposing or overwhelming.

All stories can be shared with friends/family by Facebook, Google+, Twitter, or by email. If you really like the story you can also mark it for later. All the photos are in high definition, so expect some really stunning visuals in the app. ViewFind is completely free to use and you have access to the entire archives, so feel free to scroll back and find all kinds of intriguing content. As an added bonus, you can start following the photojournalists and even connect with them through the app.
