GPS by William McRae gives you full access to your device's GPS capabilities.

GPS technology has come so far in the last several years that every cell phone and handheld device it seems has this equipment built in. With GPS being so readily available it’s no wonder that developers are coming out with really great apps that make full use of its capabilities.

GPS provides you with detailed information about your current heading, course, speed, altitude, and more. This gives you the power to track your every movement and even record it as you go. Street and topographic maps are also available for your use allowing you to plot courses and navigate the terrain.

The interface on this app is pretty basic and provides the necessary information in an organized, easy-to-read fashion. The settings are easy to manipulate which makes the app a load of fun to use.

GPS was last updated to Version 2.0.2 on December 19, 2009 and included new release notes and extended functionality. There have been 155 ratings for the current version of this app with an average score of two out of five stars.

I like the simplicity of this app and the fact that it provides full GPS functionality. The topographic maps are a nice feature and provide relatively accurate elevations for the current terrain.
