PAC-MAN app review

PAC-MAN by Namco Networks America Inc. Games is the famous classic arcade game you may have known and loved as a child, now for your iOS device! It’s on sale from today until May sixth at noon, so get it now!

If you were one of the kids who dropped have of their allowance money on this arcade game, you’ll definitely want to get this app. It brings the character and gameplay you know and love to your iPhone, Pod touch, or iPad. Please note that there is one especially for the iPad, so check it out. Here’s our review. The iPad version is also on sale right now.

If you’re not familiar with the game, your task is to guide PAC-MAN around the maze on your screen, eating fruit and avoiding the ghosts.

You can play in Normal, Original, or Easy Mode. You move PAC-MAN around using the onscreen Directional Pad in D-Pad Mode or use Swipe Mode.

To advance to the next stage, get all the dots. Fruits and other items will net you more points. Each 10,000 points will get you another life. Power Pellets will temporarily weaken the ghosts so you can eat them!

More Information

PAC-MAN was updated to Version 3.5.0 on March 26, 2013. The update added support for iOS 6 and iPhone 5, fixed a Game Center issue, and updated some functionality. The current version has 200 customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. Feedback comments are actually negative, with users complaining about the most recent update.

I didn’t have the old version, so I have nothing to which compare the new version. I found zero issues with the new version, and think this game is just awesome. It brings back all the old feelings I used to have while playing the arcade game. I recommend that anyone download it. This is easily one of the best classic arcade games ever.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 4.3 or later. PAC-MAN is optimized for iPhone 5.
