Learning to read is a big step for your child and having the appropriate learning tools is essential to enjoying great success. SightWords Pro is a great tool that will help your child master all of the most common words used and give them a step up on learning to read independently.

There are more than 1600 words listed in this app and those words comprise nearly 85 percent of the text that a child will encounter in the typical reading material for the child’s age. A child who can pick out eight of every ten words in a sentence can usually understand the meaning and that is the goal of using an app like SightWords Pro.

To use the app you can build a custom flash card library or use the predefined ones that are included. Each word has a verbal pronunciation with it so your child can see and hear the words which is critical in generating the needed associations.

SightWords Pro was last updated to Version 4.0.2 on June 14, 2012 and included the removal of Flurry Analytics, new flashcard background colors, and bug fixes. There have been 11 ratings for this app with an average score of 3.5 out of five stars.

SightWords Pro is a great learning tool and I think it works well for anyone who puts the effort into using it. It is well-presented and is easy to use and my daughter seemed to enjoy working with it.
