CamFind app review: search with your camera

Reviews

CamFind

Price: Free

CamFind by Image Searcher lets you take a photo of something, identify it, and then learn more about it, all through this one app.

All you have to do is take a picture and the app will send you information that is relevant, including where you can find it to purchase.

Are you a bargain hunter? This app is around 85 percent accurate when it comes to identifying and then providing information; compared to Google Goggle’s 15 to 20 percent, you can see where this would be better for you.

You get these options after taking a photo: Film Poster/DVD Recognition, Price Comparisons and Online Shopping, Internet Search Results, Social Sharing, Related places and Address Finder, and Related/Similar Images.

You also get Text Search, Automatic Flash, Language Translator, Voice Search, Automatic Focus, Voiceover of Identified Objects, QR and Barcode Reader, and Ability to Save Images to the Camera Roll/Upload Images from Camera Roll.

CamFind was updated to Version 1.0.3 on May 21, 2013. The update made some fixes for usability and stability, fixed a problem where movie trailers would sometimes not play, and made some changes to some Accessibility elements. The app is available in many languages and has a total of 115 customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. The single feedback comment is positive.

I tried out this app and it really works! It has potential for both people looking to buy stuff as well as for educational use. Check it out!

For:  iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad with iOS 6.0 or later. CamFind is optimized for iPhone 5.
