Cool Texts app review: add a little drama and fun to your messages

Introduction

While there is no shortage of apps that can add a little drama and fun to your messages, it’s not always easy to find one that is simple to use and offers up some great features. So does this one pass the test? Let’s take a closer look.

It’s All in the Looks

In the description of this app it mentions the famous saying that “a picture speaks a thousand words” and that is the basis of this app. With it you can add cute, fun, and moving Emojis that will add a whole other level to your messages.

It’s not just Emojis though you can also play with the background, and fonts. Unfortunately all these fun and cool features are not all free. You are given a limited amount of choices to use for free so your imagination can only run so wild. I did appreciate that you can view all the fonts and Emojis available so you can decide ahead of time if it's worth the upgrade.

Is it User-Friendly?

Besides the creative options you’re given here the other thing to look at is the ease of use. I found this one to be very simple. All you do is pick your font and background color, type in your message, and then add Emojis wherever you want. When you finish with your message you can send it by SMS or email to the recipient. You can also opt to copy the finished message to your clipboard to paste it anywhere you like.

This is not one of those Emoji apps that give you hundreds of options; instead, you’re given a select handful, but that shouldn’t take away from the quality. The free ones you’re given are plenty of fun and can definitely add a spark to your messages. The Emojis are animated, which makes it feel fresh and engaging instead of the typical stale still looking ones.

I have to say that the background options are pretty cool and definitely enhance any message you may be sending out to your friends and family.

Cons

• In order to access all the features and options you’ll need to upgrade to the Pro version of the app
• Even once the full version is purchased it’s still not a huge selection of options

 

Final Thoughts

While this app gets points for cuteness and the animated Emojis are definitely fun, I found the selection to be a bit lacking, especially when you factor in how little options there are available for free. I think there’s better apps out there that will give you a more diverse catalog.
