Sometimes it’s hard to find that peace and quiet to relax during the day and if that’s the case then you need the Calm app. This app is all about helping you to deal with and reduce anxiety and stress in your life through a meditation and relaxation program.
The app has been designed to be incredibly simple and easy to use. I mean what good is an app that is supposed to calm you down if using it is a stressful experience in itself? Launch the app and choose from a variety of scenes. Pick the one you find most calming. Each scene comes with its own sounds and I must say, each one I listened to sounded beautiful, realistic, and of a high quality.
The app takes you through the "seven steps of calm." You don't need to do a thing, just let the app go through its program while you focus on the natural scenery and sounds. Each of the relaxation steps have a specified duration that appears on the screen, ranging from two to 30 minutes. This means you can even fit them in here and there during the middle of your day when you need a little break.
In totally there are 16 music tracks, 10 nature scenes, and 50 different premium programs. The premium programs don't just help with relaxation though: the developer boasts that they can help with sleep, confidence, energy, creativity, and focus.
The first time you use the program you may want to listen to the spoken instructions that go over the details of the program. The narration suggests you sit down somewhere comfortable where your body can relax. Somewhere quiet is obviously best.
The spoken narration will then help you relax by guiding you through the steps with directions. The goal is to have your mind completely free of any thoughts, stress, or anxiety by the time you finish the program.
The free version gives you quite a few features and functions and certainly gives you a good idea of what the app is about and what it can do for you. You can choose to purchase the full Pro Access for anywhere from $4.99 to $9.99. The Pro Access gives you the premium programs. Additionally, there is brand-new content added each and every month so you can always look forward to new features.

This is a simplistic approach to helping your relax. The Calm app does a wonderful job of helping you clear your mind, relax, and feel as though you can continue on with your day in a whole new (and better) state of mind. I know that some relaxation and meditation apps give you extra functions but those aren’t always needed and I don’t feel this one suffers for being simple.
