Introduction

This is an incredibly powerful iPhone calculator app for any scientist, mathematician, or student who requires all of the functionality of a fully-fledged scientific calculator with the added bonus of being able to record their work with the handy integrated Notes section.

The best iPad apps for calculators

In the interest of full disclosure, I should probably mention that the vast majority of functions on the scientific calculator app are lost on me, but it doesn’t take a genius to see that CalcMadeEasy Free offers a vast amount of functionality, impeccably delivered with a wonderfully easy-to-use interface.

Is this one of the best calculator apps for iPhone and iPad? Keep reading our CalcMadeEasy Free app review to find out.

Calculator, Notepad, Universal Constants, and More

The best piece of advice I can give to anyone who is just starting out using this app would be to check out the Help / Tips section of the calculator to ensure you know how to get the most out of CalcMadeEasy Free.

I’m not going to pretend that I understand most of the functionality in this app but I would like to outline some of the basic features to give you guys an idea of what you’ll be getting.

All of the basic calculator functionality you would expect, such as addition, subtraction, percentages, square root, and so on are all included.

There are also features for Permutation, Combination, Mudulus, and Rounding, as well as a whole host of Memory functions, Reverse Polish Notation or RPN, RPN Stack, and much more.

Full Array of Calculator Functionality

I would also recommend tapping the atom icon in the top left-hand corner as this will provide you with a convenient list of Universal Constants, split into categories such as Astronomical, Electromagnetic, Physico-Chemical, and Mathematical.

Whether you want to quickly reference the Mass of Jupiter, Thomson Cross Section, Atomic Mass Unit, or even the Golden Ratio, the Universal Constants section should provide you with everything you need to save time by not having to manually enter this information.

The Notes section is another very handy feature which, as you might imagine, is where you can jot down thoughts, ideas, and random ponderings.

This is also useful for copying and pasting data from the calculator for future reference, but failing that, you can also swipe sideways on the calculator display to review a history of previous sums.
