Ever get to checkout on StubHub and feel like you just got mugged by the fees? That's why I downloaded TicketIQ. The whole "no fee" thing sounded too good to be true, honestly.

My two weeks with the app

Started using TicketIQ when I needed Lakers tickets last minute. First thing that caught my eye - they show the actual price upfront. No surprise $75 service charge at checkout. The ticket I wanted was listed at $210, and that's exactly what I paid. Refreshing.

The app itself feels... functional. Not pretty, but it works. The deal score feature (grades tickets A through F based on value) seemed helpful at first. Got a B+ rated ticket for the Lakers game. Turns out it was basically the same price as StubHub after their fees, so the grade was accurate.

Week two got messy. Tried buying Morgan Wallen tickets for my sister's birthday. Found decent seats for $185 each. Placed the order three days before the show. Nothing. No tickets. Panicked emails to support. Finally got a response 18 hours later saying the seller hadn't transferred them yet. They arrived literally 4 hours before the concert. My sister almost killed me.

The search function is weird too. Sometimes it just... doesn't find stuff? Searched for "Taylor Swift" (yes, I tried) and got zero results. Meanwhile StubHub had hundreds of listings. Their inventory problem is real.

The pros and cons

Pros

  • Actually no buyer fees (seller pays 10%)

  • Price you see is what you pay

  • Deal scores help spot good value

  • Works with Apple Pay

  • 200% price match guarantee (if you can prove it)

Cons

  • Way less inventory than competitors

  • Customer service basically MIA

  • Tickets often arrive last minute

  • Search misses obvious events

  • Interface from 2015

  • Can't always buy single tickets

What Reddit's saying

Found a heated discussion on r/concerts with 200+ comments. Half the people swear by TicketIQ's prices, other half calling it "Russian roulette for tickets." One guy claimed he saved $400 on playoff tickets. Another said he missed his kid's first NBA game because tickets never showed.

The Better Business Bureau page has some horror stories. Multiple people reporting tickets that never arrived or were invalid at the gate. TicketIQ responds to some complaints but resolutions seem rare.

Trustpilot reviews are all over the place - either 5 stars ("saved me hundreds!") or 1 star ("total scam, missed the concert"). No middle ground apparently.

App Store reviews from 2024-2025 keep mentioning the same thing: great prices when it works, terrifying when it doesn't. Recent update supposedly fixed sync issues but people still reporting problems.

Should you trust it?

Here's the thing - TicketIQ isn't a scam. It's been around since 2009 and they do deliver tickets. Eventually. The no-fee promise is legit, which can save you serious money on expensive events.

But it's like shopping at a discount store. Lower prices come with trade-offs. Less selection, questionable customer service, and that nerve-wracking wait for tickets to actually show up.

For a regular season game where you're flexible on timing? Sure, give it a shot. For your anniversary surprise or once-in-a-lifetime concert? Probably worth paying StubHub's stupid fees for peace of mind.

I'm keeping the app installed for browsing prices, but I've gone back to SeatGeek for actual purchases. At least their tickets show up when they're supposed to.

This app works just fine when locating seats and prices but not so well after purchase showing the tickets.

This app is a great app for tickets. I can navigate it very easily and there are no annoying adds like most other apps. They have tickets to pretty much any game you could think of. It saves you the haste of buying tickets on any other site or app. This app can also find you great seats for very affordable prices for the tickets. Even when you think games might be sold out, this app always has some extra tickets. This app is definitely a hidden gem in the App Store. I would highly recommend this app to my friends and anyone that has trouble and is stressed with buying tickets to events. Overall, this is a great app and it was definitely worth it to download:)
