A&E, History Channel, and more added to Apple TV

Apple has added some new channels from A&E networks to the Apple TV channel. This includes A&E, The History Channel, and Lifetime. Certain Apple TV owners can now watch content such as Storage Wars, Project Runway, and Duck Dynasty.

All users get a preview of these new channels, but only those with a cable television subscription from certain providers get full content. If you’ve got a subscription to DirecTV, Verizon FiOS, and Cablevision Optimum then you get this content immediately. Other providers should be added soon.

This is the latest part of A&E Networks attempt to expand their content beyond broadcast TV. They’ve recently updated their A&E and History Channel apps, letting iOS members stream live episodes of popular shows. That feature also requires a cable subscription.
