Mayo Clinic was one of the first health providers Apple approached to help with developing and launching the HealthKit platform for iOS 8. Now the health provider has launched its own app, available for free in the App Store. Users will be able to access guidance, health information, and care when they need it, according to Mayo’s medical director of public affairs. “Through the Apple Health app, users will be able to integrate information from other apps with their Mayo Clinic health information, creating actionable data to improve health and wellness.” The app will let users see Mayo Clinic health data using the Apple Health dashboard, view and manage details of their appointment schedule, contact their care team through secure messaging, and view videos on their device.
When you view the Mayo Clinic app on iTunes Preview, you’ll see the updated description that describes what is new in Version 2.00:
Rebranded as Mayo Clinic app with a new app icon and an all new user experience optimized for iOS 7 and iOS 8. We've included Integration with Health to share data to and from Mayo Clinic. We've streamlined navigation to the most important features of the application making it easier than ever to access your health record information, request an appointment and contact your care team.
