Analyst: Apple likely to launch 4.5-inch to five-inch iPhones in 2014

We’ve already heard that Apple is interested in testing larger screen sizes for the iPhone. Ming-Chi Kuo (KGI analyst) believes that Apple will release a handset with a 4.5 inch to five-inch display. Anything larger would probably alienate a lot of the company's customers and would be hard to use with one hand.

We’ve seen other manufacturers increase their screen sizes over the past few years. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a five- inch screen, the HTC One has a 4.7-inch screen, and the newly announced Samsung Note 3 has a 5.7-inch screen.

Apple has already increased the screen size from 3.5 inches to four inches with the iPhone 5 although it’s still notably smaller than other devices. The only issue for Apple will probably be how to handle the size change; many apps might look odd in a different aspect ratio. It’s unlikely that Apple would make devices any longer, so we’ll probably see the device get wider.
