Mirror Effect HD Free app review: create dazzling water and mirror effects with your photos

Introduction

Mirror Effect HD Free is a nice little image editing app which enables you to edit your photos by adding a reflection to them akin to a mirror or rippled water effect. You can create some truly enchanting results with this app, and to add further to the bargain, this app even includes a photo editing suite so you can spruce up your images with various frames, effects, and filters.

I’m usually lost with even the most simplistic of graphic editing tasks so I haven’t had much luck creating anything particularly impressive with Mirror Effect HD Free so far!

Having said that, I can easily see how powerful the tools are and I love the way the developer has also included some extra features for enhancing your images; this lets you add the finishing touches to your work to make sure you achieve the most convincing mirror effect possible.

 

I'm Looking at the Man in the Mirror

I’d like to start by mentioning a minor flaw which immediately jumped to my attention when I first starting using this app. The color of the background behind your reflected images appears to only be available as yellow, which really makes it difficult - for me, at least - to produce some convincing images.

Looking in the App Store, I can see that the images created by the developer do not seem to have this issue so I’m wondering if I’m either missing something or this is just a handicap of sorts placed on the free version of this app.

Either way, this is a severely limiting factor, and I think Mirror Effect HD Free would be about a hundred times more useful if you could adjust this.

 

Features

As for the image editor, there are some very nice looking effects and frames in here, some of which are available as free separate downloads. I think this is a nice touch as it prevents the app from taking up too much space on your device with content and features that you may never use.

The effects are pretty convincing and you’ll find all the usual Instragram-esque filters for making those photos of your lunch look even more amazing!

All in all, this is a very nicely designed app but I would like to see the developer add the option to adjust the background color in the next update.

Final Words

This really is a very good app and the mirror effects are incredibly convincing and would look very professional if it weren’t for the ugly yellow background.

I think that if the developer improves on this aspect in the next update, Mirror Effect HD Free will really begin to come into a league of its own because the rest of the features work perfectly, stability isn’t an issue at all, and the app itself is incredibly easy to navigate and use.
