Game Count app review: finally an app which tracks all big game releases
Introduction
If you are a hardcore gamer like myself, you will find yourself wondering quite often about when a specific game will be released. The best source for this is the Internet, but as all of you know, the Internet’s information is only as accurate as the people who update it. As with any entertainment product, videogames get postponed all the time, sometimes even by only a week or so. Developer Inkfight, presumably sick of these constant unexpected changes, has developed a fantastic app called Game Count. This app, developed for iPad and iPhone, not only serves as a countdown to the release of your favorite game, but also offers a lot more than this.

How it Works
Gamecount simply shows you a piece of art and a clear countdown for your favorite games. The app only has the most popular games listed, and each game holds its own page. Simply swipe to go to the next page. Regrettably, there is no customization here, meaning you can’t switch games off or add your own games. The pages show which platform the game will release on as well, which can be pretty handy information to have. On some of the game pages, of which there are 11 now, the release date hasn’t yet been announced. In this case the app will just state the quarter of release.

Other Features
Right, here is where it gets interesting. This app also has a full-fledged news section, which actually lists only news for the game you were watching in the opening screen. This is extremely handy when you want to know only about the game you’re following. Secondly there is also a video section which works exactly the same way as the news section. Only videos will appear from the game you were looking at on the main page. You can also view the Twitter section about your game, which follows the developer and all relevant hashtags that are currently linked to your game. Lastly, if you decide to sign up for free, there are tons of different community features to be found, such as messages, inviting friends, and a chat room.

Conclusion
Game Count is what hardcore gamers have been waiting for for a long time. This app simply allows you to keep track of your favorite games, or at least what the developer thinks should be your favorite games. The dedicated news, video, and Twitter pages are very well-thought-out, making this app a lot more than just a simple countdown app. The social features are fun, but not really needed to make this app the success it deserves to be. The app is compatible with both iPad and iPhone and is completely free.
