Adventure Era app review: yet another building and collecting game

Introduction

Some developers seem like they only develop one kind of game and stick with it, without having any originality in them except the world and the graphics. Developer Game Insight LLC is one of those developers. I have reviewed a ton of this developer's games in the last few months and I feel like I don’t even have to play them anymore, simply because they are so predictable. Their latest and greatest game, Adventure Era, offers nothing different. It’s available for both iPad and iPhone but doesn’t stand out from its siblings, expect when it comes to graphics and the world the developer created.

Gameplay

Like every other game developed by Game Insight, this game is free to play. You simply need to build buildings, hire workers, and keep on top of your buzzing community, simply by fulfilling their requests. This is something we’ve seen so many times. You will receive experience for every completed task and you will get access to bigger and better buildings as you progress through the game. Of course, building new stuff takes time and can be sped up if you fork out some money in the in-game store. It seems like all the games by this developer have exactly the same concept and I wonder how long it takes them to make a game like this, as every few weeks another one gets released.

Graphics and the Game World

One thing I do have to give the developer lot of credit for is the graphics of the game. The world looks vivid and all the characters are designed with heart. They all look funny and simply looking at them doing work is fun. The world where the game takes place is amazingly detailed and offers a lot of variety, but it’s a shame it will only unlock later after you’ve already spent a lot of time in the game. The sound of the game is also well designed and it really draws you in to the game and makes you want to play more.

Conclusion

If you haven’t played a game like this before, I will recommend this game to you. If, like most people, you have tried playing a similar game like this, you will get bored quickly and you will probably, like me, just delete this app as soon as you have tried it. The lack of originality on the gameplay front is really annoying. Having said that, the graphics and sound of the game are pretty good, and the world in which the game is set is very detailed and fun to watch. The app is compatible with both iPad and iPhone and is just under 100 MB. The game is available for free.
