Outline + app review
For: iPad with iOS 5.0
The Outline + app from Gorillized is a OneNote reader and editor especially designed for an iPad. No matter if you want it for school, work, or out and about, you’ll love this app. It’s Retina-ready, and gives you Microsoft OneNote power on your iPad. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without it! The app is flexible and super-fast. You can arrange your pages and notes the way you want them, chart out notes, brainstorm, create concept maps, compile to-do lists and even grocery lists…you’ll love this app. You can sync with OneNote using iTunes or Dropbox, or search all your content.
Outline + is great for any professional who does list-making, outlining, or note-taking on a regular basis: students, journalists, writers, real estate agents, doctors, administrative assistants, and more. You can type anywhere on a page and then re-arrange blocks of text as you want it. The app uses rich text so you can choose the font, font color, and font size to suit your project. It’s OneNote style-supported, so you can read and edit anything from OneNote 2010. There is basic support for OneNote 2007. For syncing, you have two options: use Box or Dropbox, or sync via USB for more sensitive data. Simply transfer the info using iTunes. The best part is that your notes are safe because they are always backed up automatically in Dropbox.
There are no subscription fees. The app was updated to Version 2.2 on October 3, 2012. This version added Box.com cloud storage sync capabilities. All versions have 245 ratings with an average of four out of five stars, while the current version has 153 ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. Customer feedback comments are very positive.
