If you love basketball then you’ll probably really like this app. There are tons of different free tools to choose from and some extras you can purchase as well. You can also include shelves or frames for your app icons if you like to create a complete look. There are a couple of major issues with this app that take away from its overall appeal. First it doesn’t have any kind of help or instructions page: you’re simply expected to figure out the app yourself. It’s not all that difficult, but it’s always a good idea to include instructions regardless. A bigger problem with this app is the pervasive use of advertisements. On every page there are banner ads along the top or bottom and if you don’t touch the screen for more than 10 seconds the app automatically pulls up a full paged ad; needless to say, this is more than a little annoying. This app will require 129 MB of free space on your iOS device.

How it Works

Basketball Screen makes it easy to create great basketball-themed wallpapers. When you first run the app you’re given a choice of 16 different backgrounds to use as your template. You simply tap on the background you like to get started customizing your background. There are several options available to you including different frames for your apps, shelves for your apps, and different color shades. To add one of these features you simply tap on its icon at the bottom of the screen and swipe left or right to make a selection. Once you find one you like you tap on it and it will be saved to your background. You can also make the color of your power indicator bar at the top the screen different from the rest of the background to make it stand out. There are a lot of customization options here.

Once you’re satisfied with your choices you can preview your work before saving your creation. The app shows you a mock-up of an iOS devices home screen to give you an idea of what it will look like on your own device. If you like what you see tap on the back arrow to return to the main screen and tap on save. The app saves your background to your photos and you can add it as your wallpaper from within the settings tab of your device.
