Google Translate app review
Introduction
Google Translate by Google, Inc. is an app to translate words and phrases using your iOS device.
The app is compatible with more than 60 languages and you get the opportunity to either type in your phrase or to speak it into your phone. The app will tell you the corresponding translated phrase or show you in text. If you’re using a non-Latin script language, you can have the app spell out the translation so you can read it phonetically.
This is a text-to-text and a text-to-voice translator app.
More Information
If you use the text function, you can translate between 64 languages. The app is compatible with 17 languages via the speak function. If you want to hear the translation, you can do so in 24 languages.
If someone near you needs to see the translation, you can put it on full-screen mode to make it easier. If you say certain phrases a lot, you can star those as your favorites to give you quick access for the next time. This makes those phrases accessible when you’re offline, too.
Speaking of offline, you have access to your translation history when you’re offline, so even if you have no Internet, you can look at previous translations.
Google Translate was updated to Version 1.3.1 on March 13, 2012. The update added tap to copy translation as well as new languages. This version has 4967 customer ratings with an average of four out of five stars.
I love Google Translate as it's probably the best iPhone translation app that I've used so far.
