User Experience

This calendar takes your traditional one and turns it upside down, allowing you to create and add events and beautify them, which makes them come to life. You'll be able to easily and quickly add all kinds of visual elements to your calendar. What's great is that the app is also able to import all the information from your device's current calendar as well as your contact information.

Features

One great feature of this calendar app includes being able to have a fresh photo to use each and every day, which makes for a wonderful start. Add photos of your contacts, maps, reminders, and notes to events, use the task list each day to stay organized, and create events. When you're moving through the calendar you can view it as the full month or jump to a specific date.

The app can even help you find bars and restaurants nearby for the events you are creating. During the day you'll be able to see what you've accomplished and what's left to do. This is a great feature if you constantly find yourself multi-tasking so that nothing goes by forgotten.

The app offers social integration so you can send well wishes to your friends and family on anniversaries and birthdays. You can also plan celebration events from within the app.

Cal has been designed in such a way in that it almost feels like a personal assistant that can evolve and change with your day as things happen.

While most users were generally impressed with this app I was only lukewarm on it. I found with all the elements you could add to each individual event, it became almost too busy-looking. I have to agree with the users that it would be great to see an indicator on the days you have events planned when viewing your calendar in month mode.
