DocuSign Ink by DocuSign has officially optimized faxing and scanning for the modern and mobile. The free app adds your saved personal e-signature, date and other form content with the press of one button: Sign. DocuSign Ink is developed to work with most document types, but its form field recognition works best with PDFs and Word Documents. Users create a standard e-signature and e-intial directly onto the screen by pointer finger, which can be edited anytime.
After the app is downloaded, users can open documents and forms through DocuSign Ink by clicking “Open In” on the right hand corner of the downloaded document. Documents can also be photo captured and signed, with storage up to 5 photos. Signature, initial, name, date signed, text and checkboxes are available by a scroll down screen, and then have to be manually dragged to the appropriate location on the page. Documents can be e-mailed directly from the app. Finished documents are stored in the app for future use.
DocuSign Ink runs on the DocuSign Global Network, a trusted network serving more than 10 million DocuSigners. DocuSign’s web site says the app is 100% secure, and users can link to a DocuSign ID card for extra signature verification.
The only inconvenience I’ve encountered is the e-mail send process. DocuSign creates a PDF for the document, but the subject always includes “re: [Document name here] - signed wih DocuSign Ink.” I have to go in and rename the subject every time, but the time and paper saved overall is well worth it.
