OpenDoor app review: surf the web with this swift and secure browser

Reviews

Introduction

OpenDoor app offers a new approach to browsing the Internet, offering a faster and more secure online experience by utilizing website caching and randomized IP addresses to provide you with absolute anonymity and convenience.

The best iPhone apps for private browsers

Having used this Opendoor app for iPhone these last few days now, I can definitely say with some certainty that OpenDoor runs as fast, if not faster, than other apps like Opendoor. I also noticed that it didn’t use my current location by default, so I’m pretty confident about the security of the browser as a whole because it seems to be zipped up pretty tight initially. Keep reading our Open Door app review for more details on this app.

As One Door Closes...

In my opinion, this app would be kind of redundant if it didn’t bring something new to the table and go above and beyond the functionality offered by Safari.

I definitely think OpenDoor offers something new, and this is evident in a number of ways. Firstly, multi-tabbed browsing is supported, allowing for up to nine tabs to be open at any one time. This is one more tab than Safari allows, so OpenDoor definitely takes the edge in this area.

Any content you like can be shared from within the app via Facebook, Twitter, email, or text message, and I think this is a great idea because it prevents you from having to copy and paste links, and switch between apps to share web pages with your friends.

I’m not particularly fond of the copper-colored interface but that’s just my own personal preference so I won’t take away any marks for that!

What I do like about the interface, though, is that you can hide the address and search bar by tapping the eject button in the top right-hand corner, and you can hide the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen by dragging it to the left with your finger.

OpenDoor also fully supports Java applets, video, and other media on web pages, so you won’t have to worry about “content striping.”

Final Words

I think I’m probably going to end up using OpenDoor as a replacement to Safari for a while because it runs at a reasonable speed while offering the extra bonuses of having enhanced security, in-app sharing via social networking sites, and full support of embedded content such as Java applets.

I’ve always found browsing the Internet on my iPhone to be a little clunky and I’m not sure that OpenDoor totally fills the gap; however, it is definitely a step in the right direction and I like how the developer has taken the basic formula and added a few new stripes on it. OpenDoor is a high-quality browser without a doubt, and it definitely gets my recommendation.
