Sometimes you're just looking for a casual game to play that is challenging but simple when it comes to the rules and controls. Why not play a game that is fun yet educational at the same time? You may just learn some new words in the process. The Word Search app offers 1,000 words to find in 40 different categories, and is sure to keep you busy and amused.
If you're the type who can appreciate a good word search then this app was made with you in mind. You can pick it up and play a quick game or easily find yourself playing for an hour or more. There are three modes of difficulty so you can also challenge yourself as much as you want. The app is available in a number of languages so why not try a couple out if you're working on learning a new language?
The way it works is that you are given your puzzle by using random grid generation. That means you aren't going to get stuck playing the same grid over and over. Even if words are sometimes repeated, they won't be in the same location. There is always a challenge when you play this game. Don't worry: unlike some “free” word search apps there is no limit here on the amount of games you can play.
Even More Options
If you find you want even more options, go ahead and purchase the unlimited pack that gives you more categories; this is available for $0.99. There is also a pack of 10 help credits for $0.99, which is perfect for when you find yourself stuck on a puzzle.
Besides the in-app purchases you aren’t given many other options, but don’t take that as a negative. This is meant to be a simple approach to word searches so it’s as close to the real thing as possible. All you have to do when you find words is highlight them with your finger and they are automatically crossed off your list. There is a clock ticking away on the side of the screen so you can try to out-do yourself each time by solving the puzzles faster as you go.
During gameplay if you need to step away for a moment and don’t want the clock to keep ticking, simply place the game on pause until you are ready to resume.
As a bit of a sucker for word searches I really enjoy the Word Search app. I like that the developer kept it simple and true to the game where you are searching for words; nothing more and nothing less. I really like that the grids are also randomly generated so you can look forward to a different game each and every time.
