A Sneaky Lesson

The best apps for kids seem to be the ones that offers up plenty of engaging and entertaining fun while having a sneaky hidden agenda to teach educational lessons at the same time.

The best iPad apps for book lovers

Kids will be cooking away in Grandma’s Kitchen completely unaware of the fact they are working on so many basic and important skills.

This app is perfect for kids aged four to seven and provides eight mini-games. Parents can be in control of which mini-games are allowed to ensure kids don't just focus on one skill.

Playing and Learning

There is plenty to highlight in this app, so much so that it's hard to know where to start! Let's start with the fact that kids will be able to enjoy an animated and dancing Grandma character, fabulous sound effects and music, and incredible looking graphics.

Best iphone and ipad apps

All of these elements draw kids in and keep their attention. Kids will be able to watch educational real kitchen videos to learn about what to do in the kitchen and then they can try out all the mini-games. There are 20 facts provided about healthy eating, cooking, and food, all of which is helpful for this age group to learn.

Skills the app touches on are reading, math skills, patterns, observation, learning to tell time, learning about colors, expanding their vocabulary, and so much more. I really enjoy the gameplay here. The learning activities kind of sneak in here and there.

This prevents the app from feeling too much like a school lesson. I also like that the mini-games are all so different from each other and are given to kids in a random way so they aren’t doing the same type of thing over and over. There are also easy-to-understand instructions along the way.
