Talking Pierre the Parrot for iOS app review: an annoyingly cute parrot on a counter 2021

Reviews

Introduction

Pierre the parrot is a just-for-fun iPhone games app that will entertain the kids and is sure to eventually drive anyone a little loopy. Pierre sits on a kitchen counter, performs a handful of tricks, and is occasionally interrupted by a mischievous cat.

But Pierre’s greatest talent is repeating whatever you say aloud word-for-word, and then remembering those phrases for later. It can be an entertaining games app for kids of all ages.

Bird Tricks

Pierre is a shockingly realistic-looking green parrot who has made the kitchen counter his stage. You can throw tomatoes at him, but he will dodge them and shake his tail feather mockingly at you. He will toss dishes out of the sink at you and giggle, and can start and stop a blender with his talon. Pierre has even been known to play the guitar.

But most of all, Pierre is known for his vocal chords. This app has access to your iPad’s microphone, if you allow it. Anything you say, Pierre will say back. Every few phrases you throw at him, he will repeat slightly off-beat, in which case he will be promptly corrected by a cute black cat.

You can poke and prod Pierre, but no matter how much you tease him, he always comes back to tease you more!

The Cat and More

A black cat also lives in Pierre’s house. He will clang cymbals around Pierre and correct him if he repeats a phrase wrong. Like Pierre, the cat can whistle, hum, sing, and speak in the same tone you give the parrot. Pierre will match your volume and pitch.

Don’t forget, if you tell him something once, he won’t forget it! Chances are, you will hear Pierre repeat old phrases at the end of new ones. He likes to pick one and latch on. Just in case you intend to use Pierre for less than noble purposes, there is a child mode that will keep him from repeating inappropriate words and phrases he has heard in the past.

Final Words

Pierre is a silly parrot that everyone should experience at least once, especially with children. It is a sure-fire way to make you laugh and eventually, annoy the heck out of you.

But until then, have fun playing ‘Polly-wanna-cracker’ and watching a cuddling little cat correct the phrases of an irritating parrot.  After all, how often do you get to see a virtual parrot play the guitar on your iPad?
