It’s funny, I’ve reviewed quite a few human anatomy apps over the past few months but this is definitely the first case of a horse anatomy app! After seeing this, I just had to take it for a spin, and my initial amusement quickly gave way to me feeling pretty impressed overall.

This is a very high-quality development, just like most of the other anatomy apps in the Medical category of the App Store, so whether you’re an equine vet or you’re just curious about horse anatomy for one reason or another, this is the app for you!

Horse Anatomy: Equine 3D has been designed to act as a comprehensive resource of equine anatomical information, providing a selection of highly detailed 3D models with labels for various anatomical structures and landmarks throughout the body.

As you would expect, you can easily rotate each 3D model and zoom in and out to get the exact view you’re looking for, and you can also cut down through the various layers of tissues to learn more about the superficial landmarks, muscles, bones, and the organs.

Test Yourself With Various Quizzes

Each structure is clearly labeled and each label comes complete with an audio pronunciation that you can listen to and ensure you don’t make a fool of yourself when passing a diagnosis on one of your patients!

You can also use this app as a powerful study aid by taking some of the quizzes which are based on more than 300 different structures. Alternatively, you can create your own quizzes to learn about the areas which are most challenging to you and really hone your craft.

Final Words

I don’t have a point of comparison because Horse Anatomy: Equine 3D is the first horse anatomy app I’ve seen for iPhone and iPad, but it looks great to me so I would definitely recommend at least considering it.
