Introduction
iPetsHD Lite is an iPhone and iPad app that endeavors to bring comprehensive information and images of cats and dogs to its users at their fingertips.
The developers, Mapp Technologies, LLC, have aimed this app to cat and dog lovers so that users can have access to all they need to know about these domestic companions.
You can find this app in the Education section of the App Store and it can be downloaded for free.
Let's take a look at its features.

User Interface & Layout
iPetsHD Lite takes a good few minutes to download and launch despite its medium-sized package of 44.6 MB. At first impression, the interface looks really pretty, presenting the users with two options: Cat breeds and Dog breeds.
Each of the sections contains just 11 breeds arranged in alphabetical order. This list is clearly abridged because you only see dog breeds starting with A and cat breeds starting with A, B, and C. Users can get access to more breeds by purchasing the full version of the app, the ads for which are constantly splashed across the bottom of the photo and video app.
The list of dog breeds can be sorted by Adaptability, Trainability, health, Friendliness, and Exercise while the cat breeds can be sorted by Vitality, Attention, Docility, Intelligence, and Independence. I must give credit for the UI, as it is very pretty and well-conceived.

Glitches and Hitches
Unfortunately, the execution of this education app is far from top-notch. It crashed on several occasions, even through just a few minutes of use. I wondered if it was a problem on my iPhone, so I tested it out on my iPad and the same issue recurred. I decided to check out the user reviews where I was able to determine this is a universal problem.
Furthermore, I also saw many users complain that the information was grossly inaccurate for many breeds.

Pros & Cons
Pros
-
Has a delightful user interface
Cons
-
The app crashes very frequently during navigation
-
Users have complained about the inaccuracy of information, for instance, one user said “Whoever made this app clearly knows nothing about dogs. Being a dog enthusiast and canine behavioral and breed expert, I am truly insulted by this app. Do your research. Don't make uneducated guesses about breeds you know nothing about. You are giving out false information to people who actually want to learn about dogs. It's pathetic.” This is the least offensive review I could find!

Final Words
iPetsHD Lite is an iPhone and iPad app that I would definitely recommend against getting if you're a cat or dog enthusiast. I hope that the developers take the feedback in a constructive way and work on improving this app, because it could be something great.
