Introduction
Airports by TravelNerd, by NerdWallet, is an amazingly handy app for frequent travelers. Firstly it is an airport guide, with handy lists of all kinds of information. Secondly it is also a flight tracker, allowing you to search specific flights and see where they are at and if they are arriving or departing on time. The app as of now only supports ten of the biggest airports in the world, but I can imagine this app will grow bigger in time.
The app is well designed, easily usable and very handy. The app requires about 20 MB of space and is made compatible with iPad as well as iPhone.
Airport Guides and Content
The ten airports currently featured in this app are based all over the world. In the United States the JFK, LaGuardia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, and O’Hare airports are supported, while Paris' Charles de Gaulle and London 's Heathrow are available for Europe. In Asia the Hong Kong airport and Tokyo Haneda airport are available.
Each airport has a handy list of airlines by terminal, terminal maps, a list of restaurant, shops, and airline lounges. The opening times, location and if there is a seating area is detailed per restaurant and coffee shop, so finding a place to relax will be easy to find. Also available is an overview of other amenities, a list of ground transportation, and taxi sharing. All of this information is up-to-date and very handy to have with you at all times.
Flight Tracker
While you are waiting at the airport and you’ve settled in, it’s very handy to be able to track the flight you are waiting for. This app has that option too! Simply put in the airline, the flight number, and the departure date and within no time you will have exact details on your flight. If you’re waiting to pick someone up, you can also easily check if the flight has been delayed or not.
Searching by route is also an option, which is extra handy for plane spotters. You can simply see if the plane is landed, has a delay, or is going ahead on time as scheduled.

Conclusion
I really like this app. Having spent many hours on different airports all over the world, I’ve always craved for an app that has terminal maps, restaurant lists, and information about WiFi. If you are also a frequent traveler you will know how handy it is to have all this information in your pocket. The flight tracker only adds to the functionality and the fact that no ads are put in this app only improves the usefulness. I completely recommend this app for anyone who visits these airports!
