If you require medications on a regular basis Pharmacy Health Connect may be the perfect little app for you. Taking multiple medications on a daily basis can be a challenge: you need to make sure your prescriptions are always filled on a timely basis. If you have to call your prescriptions in every time you run out, it can be a little tedious and potentially intimidating for those of us who don’t like to talk on the phone. Pharmacy Health Connect allows you to fill your prescriptions without ever having to pick up a phone. This is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
This app combines the old fashioned mom and pop appeal of independent pharmacies, with the modern desire for convenience. Many of us are probably somewhat familiar with the ability to order a pizza online: this is the same sort of idea only geared toward ordering medication. There isn’t much of a learning curve with this app. In fact you’ll have your first prescription filled within minutes of opening the app.
Pharmacy Health Connect aims to keep the process as simple as possible, and it succeeds. If you prefer to get your medication from big name pharmacies then this app is probably not for you, but if you’re happy to support small local businesses this app may be just what you’re looking for. At 7.3 MB it doesn’t take up much space on your iOS device.
Using the App
This app is probably one of the simplest apps you’ll ever come across. When you first boot up the app you’ll be asked to create a profile. There isn’t much too this, all you have to do is fill in your first and last name, pick your pharmacy from the available list, and select any health related news items you may be interested in from a short list. After that, just submit the information and your profile is created.
Once you’ve created your profile you’ll be able to start using the app: everything is accessible from one main screen. The first step is to tap on the meds tab, use the search feature to add your meds, and save your selections. Once you’ve populated your meds list you can tap on reminders on the home screen to set up alerts to remind you to refill your meds on a regular basis. When you receive a reminder you can tap on the refill icon and from there you can order your meds directly through the app without ever picking up a phone. You can choose to pick up the meds yourself or have them delivered. If you do wish to contact the pharmacy by phone there is a contact option in the bottom left corner; you also have the option to access directions to the pharmacy and to check the hours of the pharmacy. This is a simple little app, but it does everything you need. The only major drawback is with the available pharmacy selection. Unfortunately it’s quite limited.
Making sure your prescriptions are filled regularly and before you run out can be a challenge. Pharmacy Health Connect is a great app to help you keep on top of the task of filling your prescriptions; it’s simple yet effective. If you’re pharmacy is in the apps database you should definitely give it a try.
