WHRB is Harvard’s entirely student-run radio station, and Boston’s most original programming. Home of the world-famous Orgy® season, WHRB is one of Boston’s oldest radio stations, WHRB brings the creativity, intellect, and risk-taking abilities of Harvard’s student body to bear on nearly all genres of music.
On weekdays, WHRB programming includes The Jazz Spectrum (5:00AM-1:00PM), Classical Music (1:00PM-10:00PM), and Record Hospital (10:00PM-5:00AM).
On weekends, WHRB broadcasts The Darker Side (underground hip-hop, techno, funk, soul, electronica, and reggae), Blues Hangover, Hillbilly at Harvard, and additional Classical Music and Jazz Spectrum programs.
The New York Times has hailed WHRB’s Orgy® season as "idealistic and interesting," adding that "the WHRB Orgies represent a triumph of musical research, imagination, and passion." Orgy® season occurs twice a year, during Harvard’s exam period. The programming during Orgy® season consists of long blocks of themed music. Past Orgy® seasons have included the complete works of Beethoven, collections of labor music, Massachusetts hip-hop artists, and more.
