iSEE iHEAR in SITU for the iPad assembles a collection of landscape images taken on the Keweenaw Peninsula located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As in a memory, the images span various passages through the days and seasons of this region. Video and photo mosaics are collaged in a never-ending cycle, and pinpoint unique observations of this environment in a poignant fashion.
There are four parts to this app:
The iSEE iHEAR in SITU video is a demonstration of how the app works when playing in a home as a motion frame. The gentleman in the video is reading a book by noted U.P. author Jim Harrison. As time passes, through consciousness and sleep, the video continues.
The second sample video, The BIG Lake, is a photo collage taken from photographs provided by the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Coast Watch satellite that is stationed over Lake Superior and broadcasts in near real-time. This version is abbreviated. The full version will be included on the iSEE iHEAR app.
The LAND and LAKE sections are a collection of stills I have taken over the years from the Keweenaw Peninsula. Besides being part of this app, they are available as hard copy, framed as an iPad. They are in an edition of 3 and can be found and ordered here:
The Book OF Dreams section on the app is memorabilia found in my studio as well as collage postcards I have sent every summer to friends and collectors. Much like the assembled pieces in iSEE iHEAR they represent fragments of places I have been, a real “wish I was there” moment.
iSEE iHEAR in SITU demonstrates how the app works as an art piece is offered for no cost on the iTunes store.
The complete iSEE iHEAR app is available in an edition of one with 24 photographic artists proofs mounted as iPads. Provisioned for just your iPad.
You can also buy the entire iSEE iHEAR app with the original video, and a full version of "The BIG Lake" video, but without the photographic artists proofs on the iTunes store.
It will be available on the iTunes store soon in a limited edition.
